You read that correctly: for 69 years now, the Stavelot Festival has been inviting you every summer to a wonderful celebration of chamber music, held in an atmosphere that is as warm and welcoming as it is friendly.

The Abbey and St Sebastian’s Church have always provided a unique setting for concerts that we strive to be of the highest quality, with a repertoire spanning from the Renaissance to contemporary music, though with a particular focus on the music of the last three centuries.

High standards have also always been the watchword of our programming, and whilst we call upon the finest Belgian and international performers, we take great care to promote our young talents. Indeed, this commitment drives us to regularly introduce them to new, more experienced partners.

As for our youngest audience members, they can always enjoy very attractive admission rates and even musical performances designed especially for them. This will be the case again this year with the ‘Family Concert’ on Saturday 12 September: Le Jeu pas sorcier, featuring the Kheops ensemble and Maureen Dor.

And finally, as you can see: as the years go by, we always strive to maintain our warm welcome, whether on stage or in the auditorium. You only need to find yourself in our magnificent Romanesque cellars at the end of the evening to realise that our reputation as a festival of friendship and conviviality is well established…

Wherever you come from, we look forward to seeing you there!

Suzanne Micha,
President of the Stavelot Festival
