Whilst the theme of the 2026 Wallonia Festivals invites us to embark on a journey, the Stavelot Festival will explore this theme in a variety of ways. First of all, as we know, many composers’ scores bear the mark of their country of origin.
Germany and Austria are very well represented, with Johann Sebastian Bach kicking off the season, as well as Weber (whose 200th anniversary of his death we are celebrating), Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert. And the Czech Republic is not to be outdone, nor France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania or South America! Whilst we are delighted to present the very best of our performers, some others come from much further afield, even as far as Denmark…
You will therefore be taken on a long journey, perhaps punctuated by slightly nostalgic personal memories or a wide range of emotions.
