One of the aims of the Stavelot Festival has always been to showcase lesser-known but high-quality works alongside the great repertoire, and the same applies to artists whose names are not yet familiar but whose great talent is already widely recognised. For this closing concert, we have invited the German Amaryllis Quartet to Stavelot for the first time, and they will be performing Maurice Ravel's famous quartet. Two members of the Zemlinsky Quartet will then join them to perform works by Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák, both illustrating the riches of their national heritage.
Programme:
Maurice Ravel: String Quartet in F major M. 35
Johannes Brahms: String Quintet No. 1 for two violins, two violas and cello, in F major, Op. 88
Antonín Dvořák: String sextet in A major, op. 48 B 80
