Ravel and his time
Ensemble Oxalys
Regular guests at the Stavelot Festival, the artists of the Oxalys Ensemble have always been keen to offer us highly original programmes. Even today, the mere mention of the names of the French composers on the programme will take us back to the early years of the 20th century, when so many little-known works were created that deserve to be rediscovered. Of course, the repertoires of Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy are familiar to us, but those of Charles Koechlin and André Caplet are undoubtedly less so. So here's to the pleasure of discovery!
Programme :
Claude Debussy: 1st Rapsodie for solo clarinet, flute, string quartet and harp
Charles Koechlin: Sonate à 7, for principal oboe, flute, harp and string quartet
André Caplet: Conte fantastique after Edgar Poe, for harp and string quartet
Maurice Ravel: Introduction and Allegro for harp, string quartet, flute and clarinet
