The Millennium Orchestra was founded in 2014 by Argentine conductor and choirmaster Leonardo García Alarcón, under the auspices of CAv&Ma, the Namur-based Centre d'Art vocal & de Musique ancienne. This orchestra works with the Namur Chamber Choir, which is also often conducted by Alarcón. Alarcón's aim is to attract a wider audience to classical music through a new way of communicating and designing programmes, taking into account the continuing transformation of the audience and the changing role of the orchestra in today's society.
