Born in Malmedy, Sophie Karthäuser won her first prizes at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège and went on to perfect her skills at the famous Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Noëlle Barker. Winner of numerous prizes, her career developed very quickly. She is in demand by famous ensembles, under the direction of eminent conductors. She can be applauded in the world's greatest concert halls and is regularly invited to Belgium, notably to the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie. Her repertoire and her fine recordings cover a vast period of the History of Music.
