Associate artist of the Festivals de Wallonie 2022
Born in 1985 in the Verviers region, Sophie Junker began her vocal studies with her father Stephan Junker, before continuing them at the IMEP in Namur. She then studied at the Guildhall School in London, from which she graduated in 2011. Immediately, major international houses offered her beautiful roles, ranging from Purcell or Handel to Britten or Poulenc, before she explored the Italian repertoire, especially Monteverdi and Vivaldi. Her performances have led her to interpret the most extensive repertoire, in Belgium and France in particular, and also in the United States.
